Payment Requirements

• Full payment must be made upfront via New Zealand bank transfer or cash.
• Bank transfers must clear before the campervan is released.
• Cancellations are non-refundable under any circumstances.

Insurance Obligations

• Renters must secure their own insurance through Trade Me Insurance.
• The “Pay Monthly” insurance option is mandatory.
• Proof of an active insurance policy must be presented before the vehicle is released.
• Insurance coverage must remain valid for the entire rental period.

Campervan Usage Rules

• Vehicles are not permitted on unsealed roads, restricted areas, or for any illegal activities.
• Travel outside of New Zealand requires prior written approval.
• Renters are accountable for the actions of all drivers and passengers.

Driver Requirements

• All drivers must hold a valid, full licence recognised in New Zealand.
• The minimum age for drivers is 21 years.
• Copies of all drivers’ licences must be provided prior to pick-up.

Damage and Responsibility

• Renters are liable for all damages, theft, or loss during the rental period.
• Claims must be processed through the renter’s insurance.
• Any damage not covered by insurance is the renter’s responsibility.

Vehicle Condition and Cleanliness

• Vehicles are provided clean and in roadworthy condition.
• Renters must return the vehicle in the same condition.
• Cleaning fees will apply if returned dirty or with excessive waste.

Breakdowns and Repairs

• Any breakdowns must be reported immediately to Campervan Rentals.
• Repairs may not be conducted without prior approval.
• Campervan Rentals is not responsible for expenses or losses caused by breakdowns.

Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances.

Unmarked Vehicles

• Campervans are unmarked for discretion and privacy, ensuring renters can travel without drawing attention.

Privacy and Data Handling

• Personal data is collected solely for rental purposes.
• Information is not shared with third parties unless required by law.

Termination of Agreement

• Campervan Rentals reserves the right to terminate agreements for any breach of terms.
• If terminated, the campervan must be returned immediately, with no refunds provided.

Additional Charges

• Late returns incur daily rental fees.
• Renters are responsible for all fines, tolls, or penalties incurred.

Indemnity

• Renters agree to indemnify Campervan Rentals against any claims or damages arising from campervan use.

Consumer Protections

• This agreement operates in addition to protections provided under New Zealand Consumer Law.

Key Definitions

• Agreement: The rental confirmation and terms.
• Bond: Security deposit for liability purposes.
• Collection Point: Agreed pick-up location.
• Rental Agreement: Signed document outlining rental terms.
• Vehicle: The campervan, including tyres, tools, and equipment.

Rental Period and Amendments

• The hire period begins on the pick-up date and ends on the return date.
• Rates are confirmed at booking and are subject to change only with amendments or upgrades.

Driving Restrictions

• Only drivers listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.
• Licences must meet New Zealand requirements, including accredited translations if necessary.

Renter Responsibilities

• Return the vehicle clean, with a full fuel tank and gas bottle (if applicable).
• Report mechanical issues or damages immediately.
• Ensure proper handling, parking, and security of the vehicle.

Payment Obligations

• All charges, including rental fees and bonds, must be settled before pick-up.
• Renters cover fuel expenses unless pre-purchased.
• Payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, Union Pay, and American Express (with surcharges).

Liability and Costs

• Renters are liable for damage to the vehicle and third-party property.
• Additional costs such as towing, loss of revenue, or repairs are also the renter’s responsibility.

Mechanical Failures and Accidents

• Mechanical issues or accidents must be reported immediately.
• Renters must not admit fault and must cooperate with insurance claims.

Returning the Vehicle

• Vehicles must be returned on time, clean, and with a full fuel tank.
• Extra charges will apply for delays, unclean vehicles, or missing fuel.

Breach of Terms

• Campervan Rentals reserves the right to terminate the agreement if terms are breached.
• No refunds will be given in such cases, and the campervan must be returned immediately.
